Alaskan Labrador Tea

Alaskan Labrador Tea also known as “Northern Labrador Tea” is an evergreen that is commonly found in the marshes of the northern hemisphere. It is a unique herbal tea known for its aromatic flavor and potential health benefits. It is made from the leaves of the Labrador tea plant (Rhododendron groenlandicum), a shrub native to northern regions like Canada. Labrador tea has a distinctively earthy and slightly floral taste, with hints of pine. In addition to its delightful flavor, Labrador tea is believed to offer several health benefits. It is rich in antioxidants, which help combat oxidative stress and promote overall well-being. Traditionally, it has been used by First Nations people to help regulate the menstrual cycle, counter respiratory problems, alleviate minor aches caused by inflammation and improve insulin sensitivity.

When making fresh Labrador tea, it’s important to use caution and moderation, as excessive consumption may lead to adverse effects due to the presence of certain compounds in the plant.
