It can used in hot water as a tea, processed for use on the skin and used for culinary purposes. Ideally it should be steeped in hot water for 10 minutes or longer for optimal results. It has a delightful, sweet taste. It is similar to Honeybush but not as sweet.

Honeybush is a plant closely related to Rooibos but with a rougher texture. It also grows in South Africa and is traditionally used as an antioxidant, in digestion, to hydrate the skin, improve skin maladies, promote lactation and improve the taste of herbal tea blends. It has a similar taste to that of rooibos but is far sweeter and is named for its strong “honey” taste. It can used in hot water, processed for use on the skin and for culinary purposes.

Mint is another widely known herbal that grows in a variety of different locations. Traditionally it has been used for its sedative properties, however, it has also been used for purposes of relaxation, cancer prevention, digestion, to improve insulin sensitivity, alleviate headaches, and improve the taste of teas and food. It possesses antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, along with antioxidants, which make it great for detox purposes. Rose Petals are another caffeine-free alternative with antioxidants that exceed that of green tea. Rose can be found readily and most of its parts have uses in traditional medicine. Traditionally rose petals have been used to help with menstrual pain, treat inflammation, help with prevention of diabetes, as a mood enhancer, help with anxiety, seizures, and aging. It can be used in hot water, processed for use on the skin, used for culinary purposes and in crafts.
