Bamboo Leaves

Bamboo “bamboo leaves” is from is from the subfamily Bambusoideae and is a perennial grass. This variety is known as Lophatherum gracile Brongn. (L. gracile). The leaves are harvested and processed similarly to true “teas” in that they are handpicked during summer and harvest occurs during the spring season. Bamboo does not rely on pesticides due to its natural defense mechanisms. Traditionally, it has been used with hot water as a refreshing caffeine-free substitute, as well as to promote immune function and skin regeneration. It contains a variety of minerals and an easy way to add silica to the diet.
